Domains and functions: a field guide
Every expert and every assignment on ConsultEarth carries two kinds of tag. A domain says what the work is about. A function says what the consultant does.
On ConsultEarth, both employers and consultants describe work using the same taxonomy, which is what lets the platform connect them. For example, an evaluation specialist who works on energy projects is an energy person and an evaluation person, and should be findable as both.

Choosing yours
Pick what you can credibly deliver, not every topic that interests you. Domains and functions are scored separately, so answering both tells a client far more than a long list on one side.
Claiming eight domains does not make you eight times as findable. It makes each claim worth less, and it fills your feed with assignments that were never a fit. A short, honest set gets matched more often.
